Art Trip to Beacon Fell
Yesterday, we had a wonderful art trip to Beacon Fell to learn all about sculptures. In the morning, we went on a sculpture hunt and walked around Beacon Fell looking for stone and wood sculptures. When we found one we sketched and labelled them in our art sketch books. We trekked up to the summit and looked across the landscape. If we looked carefully at the horizon, we could see Blackpool Tower in the distance. After eating our lunch outside, we ventured back into the woods to make our own scupltures using clay and natural materials. Finally, we created mandala patterns by collecting natural materials and thinking about our symmetry work in maths last week. Thank you to those parents who came with us and also a big thank you to Beacon Fell Adventures for our fantastic art trip.
