This half term in Design Technology we have designed, built and evaluted castles. The castles success criteria was to have a drawbrigde that could be lowered to let soliders in but then quickly raised if the enemy were about to launch an attack. They selected different materials which they needed to attach to create features of a castle such as turrets, a drawbridge and a barbican. Then they worked together to strengthen their structure using paper mache and mixed paint to create a stone effect. Finally, they added an axle to raise and lower their drawbrigde and finished it off by adding finer details.
