Class Bubble Isolation
Our Reception class will isolate up to Monday 26th April. We will all return to school on Monday 26th April (as long as your child is not showing any symptoms of COVID19).
Until then, I have set some home learning. The home learning timetable has been uploaded onto our Home Learning page on the website and it can also be found on Google Classrooms. As I did during Lockdown, I will run a Google Meet at 9:30am and 12:45pm every day. Our 9:30am session will be slightly longer than they were during lockdown, as I will be doing a mini phonics session and introducing our literacy/maths. Our afternoon ones will be similar to last time. Please do not worry if your child misses a Google Meet and please do not feel the pressure to complete all the work. Just survive and enjoy the sunshine (in your garden, of course ).
Photos of your child's work can be submitted on Google Classrooms or emailed to me - whichever is easiest for you. If you need anything, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Monday 8th March 2021
We are so excited to have all the children back in school with us. We have lots of exciting activities planned for this week to keep the children busy – they’ll be tired by Friday (and so will we!!!).
There is note coming home in reading diaries today about book changing days – we will be changing home reading books twice a week from this week.
The children have been put into Key Person groups from this week – the groups are not ability based. Each group has 10 children and we have tried to place children with children they are close to and an adult they are comfortable with. These groups will come together to do well-being and social activities. Your child with either be in the Parrot group (Mrs Grainger), Monkey group (Miss Whalley) or Elephant group (Miss Wharton). The previous groupings of Humpty Dumptys, Incy Wincys, Miss Muffets, Bo Peeps and Gooses are also still in place. The children will continue to ‘work’ in these groups for the time being.
We will be starting Show & Tell on Thursdays. The children are invited to bring something in from home or to share some news. This will be done in Key Person groups so each child has plenty of opportunity to have their turn. On the Class Page you will find a weekly theme sheet – this is to be used as a guide and give you some inspiration. Please do not feel it must be strictly adhered to – if your child has something to show which is not related to the theme, that’s absolutely fine.
Homework is being set and turned in on Google Classrooms across the whole school. If I set any writing activities, I do not expect the children to type their work. I am happy for you to turn in photos of their work on Google Classrooms. I will set Homework each Friday.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to speak to one of the EYFS team or, send me an email.
