Values & Ethos

We intend to provide our pupils with a rich, broad and balance curriculum that will prepare them to take their place in a diverse and rapidly changing world.

Our Key characteristics are:

          Character              Leadership          Learning             Inclusion             Ambition

Our intention is…

Character … that “Harris Standard” continue to be the core aspect of our values and that the well-being of children and staff will be paramount across the school.

Leadership … to equip our pupils with the leadership skills they will require both now and in the future. We hope that pupils will increasingly influence school leaders.

Learning … to encourage confident, independent and enthusiastic learners who are curious about the world and know how to find the answers to their questions.

Inclusion    … for all children to have high self-esteem and be resilient learners who are able to manage challenges, make good choices and know how to be happy.

Ambition   … to ensure our pupils know what possibilities are available to them and have the confidence and knowledge to take these on optimistically, knowing that the possibilities are endless.

Our school motto is "Aim Higher" and we encourage the children to do their best in everything.

British Values

We promote British values both in our curriculum and in daily school life . We value the contribution of all pupils, staff and visitors whatever their background or faith position and celebrate special events when they occur.

We promote mutual respect for and tolerance of all faiths and beliefs.

We teach children the value of the democratic process and the rule of law.

Individual liberty is promoted across the curriculum and throughout school in general.

National events such as Remembrance Day and Royal events are marked with pride in our school.
