Thank you for all of the lovely photos of home learning! I love the creative ways you came up with for measuring. Fantastic work Year 1, keep it up!
This week in Maths we have been working on our addition skills. We have used a range of resources to help us calculate addition questions, including objects, number lines and 10 frames.
For our homework this week, I would like you to practise using a number line as a resource for addition questions. Below I have attached some addition questions and number lines. For example: 4 + 3 = Please encourage your child to circle the starting number (4) and jump on 3 to arrive at the answer.
If you wish, you could have a go at an addition game. Please find the link below:
English & Computing:
This week in Computing, we have begun to look at the technology around us and how we use it. Have a look around your house, technology is everywhere! Draw four ways in which technology is used in your house and write a simple sentence about it.
I have attached a worksheet for this or you could draw on a plain piece of paper.
Please can you continue to practise counting at home – or anywhere and everywhere!
I love seeing photos of your child enjoying their homework. Please continue to take photos and/or videos of your child engaging in homework tasks and email them to me at firstname.lastname@example.org
If you have any questions, please feel free to email me or speak to any of the Year 1 team at drop off or pick up.
