Thank you for the photos of your wonderful posters last week! You all showed off your knowledge of the seasons.
This week, we have continued to look at money. We have set up our own Year 1 shop in our Maths and role play area, where the children have enjoyed using their simple addition skills to calculate the total of their items and pay for the items using ‘real’ money.
Your homework task is to set up a little shop at home. You can sell anything from a toy to a can of beans! Can you label your items and give them a price? For example, ‘Can of beans. 3p’
Ask members of your family to come to your shop and buy some items. Can you work out the total? If you fancy a challenge, you could work out the amount of change to give them.
**We have worked on simple amounts using 1p, 2p, 5p and 10p coins.
If you wish, you could play the Toy Shop game on Top Marks:

I look forward to seeing some photos of your shop!
