Thank you for all of the super homework completed over half term! I hope you managed to have a good rest!
This week in Maths we have been learning about fractions. We have explored halving shapes and quantities. Can you complete the ‘Halving quantities’ worksheet below? There are three options; tricky, trickier, trickiest. I would only like you to complete one sheet but if you would like to do more than one – go for it!
We are starting to look at plurals and how to spell them correctly.
Remember, a plural is when there is more than one of something. Most of the time we just add ‘s’ on the end of a word. However, if a word ends in ‘sh’, ‘ch’, ‘ss’, ‘s’, ‘x’ or ’z’, we add ‘es’
Below I have attached a ‘Plurals board game’. You do not need to print this off to play it, you could play with the game displayed on a screen. Have a go at playing the game with an adult in your house – how many times can you win?
Please can you continue to practise counting in 1s, 2s, 5s and 10s at home. Try starting from different numbers. Try to count backwards as well as forwards.
I love seeing photos of your child enjoying their homework. Please continue to take photos and/or videos of your child engaging in homework tasks and email them to me at firstname.lastname@example.org
If you have any questions, please feel free to email me or speak to any of the Year 1 team at drop off or pick up.
