Week Beginning Monday 6th April

Good morning Year 2,

Please note that next week is Year 2's holiday week so no tasks will be uploaded. Take this time to take a break, re-visit work from previous weeks or direct your own learning through a topic that interests you.

Please find today's learning below.

English: This week you have been practising spelling words ending in -le, -el, -al and -il. Today, open Oxford Owl

The new class log in for this was shared last week but if you haven't got it, please email me or contact another parent from our class.

Go on 'RWI Spelling- Extra Practice Zone'. In the top two boxes, select 'Year 2' and 'Word Endings'. Play the game by selecting the correct word ending for each word in the sentence from the drop down list. Click done after each page to check your answers. Record your score and revisit this game over the next couple of weeks and aim to prove your score each time.

Maths: See the Arithmetic file attached. The children complete these weekly in school so are familiar with the activity. I have added prompts, reminders and the vocabulary we use in school for each calculation, at the bottom, to support pupils and parents. The children usually complete their working out on a whiteboard but they can use their home learning books. This can be printed or record the calculations in your home learning book.

Topic: Continue with your animal shoe box life cycle. As there will be no work uploaded next week you could carry on with your science project. Take a photo of yourself with your life cycle shoe box and I will add them to our class page.
