End of year thank you!
What a fantastic year it’s been at Harris Primary! As we reach the end of term, I want to say a huge thank you to all our amazing children, staff, and families for your support, hard work, and enthusiasm throughout the year. It’s been another successful and memorable chapter in our school’s journey, filled with learning, laughter, and lots of proud moments. I hope you all have a wonderful Summer break—enjoy the sunshine, make special memories, and come back refreshed and ready for more fun in September!

Goodbye and Good Luck
It’s hard to believe it’s almost time to say goodbye to our amazing Year 6 pupils! You’ve all come so far, and we’re so proud of everything you’ve achieved during your time at primary school. As you get ready to start high school, we wish you loads of luck and happiness for the exciting journey ahead. We can’t wait to celebrate with you at the Leaver’s Assembly on Tuesday – it’s going to be a special way to look back on all the great memories we’ve made together. We’ll miss you, Year 6 – don’t forget to come back and visit!
Miss Povey, our wonderful EYFS Teaching Assistant, will be leaving us at the end of this term to take up an exciting new role. We thank her for all her hard work and the care she has shown to our youngest learners, and we wish her every success in her new adventure. In September, we are pleased to welcome three new members to our Teaching Assistant team: Mrs Vaughan, Mrs Buck, and Mrs Desai. We look forward to them joining us and becoming part of our school community.

Harris Fest and Summer Fair – What a Day!
What a fantastic day we had at this year’s Harris Fest and Summer Fair! A massive thank you to our brilliant PTFA, staff, and volunteers for all their hard work in putting the event together – we couldn’t have done it without you. Thanks also to everyone who came along on the afternoon. And of course, a huge well done to all the children – your performances were amazing and really stole the show!
We’re also please to share that the event raised a fantastic amount of money, which will go towards exciting projects to enhance the children’s experience at school next year. Thank you for all your support!
Our New Virtual School Tour is Now Live!
We’re excited to share that our brand-new and updated virtual tour video is now available on the school website! This short video gives families a fun and friendly look around our school, including our classrooms, playground, and special learning spaces. Whether you're a new family or just want to see what's new, we invite you to take a look!
The Importance of Excellent Attendance
We would like to take this opportunity to highlight the importance of excellent pupil attendance. Regular attendance plays a vital role in both the academic progress and social development, helping children build strong friendships and stay on track with their learning. Good attendance also supports overall well-being, routine, and confidence. Harris Primary's whole school attendance is consistently above National and Lancashire averages. So thank you for your continued support in promoting good attendance and ensuring that our children are in school every day, ready to learn and thrive.
