Welcome to Year 1!
We are delighted to welcome you to Year 1 and we can't wait to share an exciting year ahead.
In Year One, we learn through adult led tasks and enhanced provision linked to our exciting curriculum. At Harris Primary School, our pupils have the opportunity to embed the Year 1 curriculum in a child friendly way that suits our pupils interests. Our children explore learning in both our indoor and outdoor areas. We aim to ensure that our pupils develop the skills to be independent, resiliant learners who work together to;

Starting Year 1
To ensure we have the best start to Year 1, please take a moment to familiarise yourselves with what your child needs each day.
- Reading packs and reading records
- Named uniform including cardigans, jumpers and PE tracksuits.
- Waterproof coat and wellies
- Named book bag
- Named water bottle
PE Information
Our PE lessons are every Tuesday afternoon with Mr Ridge and Miss Wilkinson. PE is an important part of school life and children need to partake each week. Therefore, please ensure that children wear their PE kit and suitable footwear on their PE day. Please remember to take out earrings and tie back their hair, so we are safe in our lessons.
