Welcome to our final weekly newsletter of the Summer Term and the 2025β26 academic year. It has been another busy, successful and memorable year, and both our children and staff have so much to be proud of. From academic achievements and sporting successes to the many enriching experiences enjoyed throughout the year, it has been wonderful to see our school community thrive. There is just one final week of school remaining before the summer break, and we look forward to ending the year on a positive note. As a reminder, school will finish at 1:30pm next Friday for all pupils.
As we approach the end of the year, we would also like to wish our Year 6 children and their families the very best of luck as they begin the next exciting chapter of their journey at high school in September. We are incredibly proud of all they have achieved during their time at Harris Primary School and have no doubt that they will continue to flourish, embrace new opportunities and make us proud in the years ahead.
Finally, on a personal note, this will be my last newsletter as Headteacher of Harris Primary School as I prepare to begin a new role in September. It has been an absolute privilege to be part of such a wonderful school community over the past ten years. I would like to thank our dedicated staff, fantastic pupils and supportive families for the kindness, encouragement and support you have shown me throughout my time here. I am truly grateful for the many kind words, cards and thoughtful gifts that I have received in recent weeks. Harris Primary School will always hold a very special place in my heart, and I leave with many happy memories and immense pride in all that we have achieved together. I wish the school and everyone connected to it every success and happiness for the future.
Thank you for your continued support throughout the year, and I wish all of our families a happy, safe and restful summer holiday.

Year 6 Spectacular Performance
A huge well done to our Year 6 children and staff team for their brilliant performance of Oliver with a Twist on Thursday. The children were fantastic, showing so much confidence, enthusiasm and talent on stage, and it was wonderful to see all of their hard work pay off. Thank you to the staff team for giving up their time to help bring the production to life. It was a fantastic afternoon and evening enjoyed by everyone and a wonderful way to celebrate our Year 6 pupils as they get ready for their next adventure. πππ
Sun Safety Reminder
With the warm, sunny weather set to continue, we would like to remind families about the importance of keeping children safe in the sun during the school day.
Please ensure your child comes to school each day with a named water bottle to stay hydrated and a sun hat for outdoor play. We also ask that sun cream is applied before school, with long-lasting, all-day varieties recommended where possible.
To help children stay cool and comfortable during the hot weather, children may wear their school PE kit in place of their usual school uniform from tomorrow and while these temperatures continue.
We are following the latest government guidance for schools during periods of hot weather and heatwaves, including encouraging regular hydration, making use of shaded areas during breaktimes, adapting activities where necessary, and keeping classrooms as comfortable as possible. Further information can be found in the Department for Education's guidance: Hot weather and heatwaves: guidance for schools and other education settings.
Thank you for your continued support in helping us keep all children safe, healthy and comfortable during the warmer weather.
