Our May Online Safety newsletter is now available to view on the school website and via this link. We are also excited to announce that, alongside the written parent newsletter, we will now be sharing a short accompanying video each month to support key online safety messages at home. Our May video focuses on Navigating group chats, offering helpful tips and guidance to keep children safe while online. We hope you find these resources useful and informative.
Gold Behaviour Quality Mark
A select group of children went to County Hall this week for the presentation of our Gold Quality Mark plaque and certificate in the Councillor's Chambers.
This message was shared during the presentation:
The children and staff of Harris Primary have earned the Gold Award through their kindness, respect and teamwork. The 'Harris Way' shines through in all aspects of school life, from learning behaviours to the way pupils treat each other and visitors. Children at Harris do the right thing (even when nobody is watching), showing kindness, independence and responsibility across all areas of school life.
Children look out for one another, and help make their school a place where everyone feels safe, valued and welcomed. There is a clear sense of pride in being part of Harris, with excellent behaviour for learning evident across the school.
Author Visit
This week we were delighted to welcome visiting author Stuart Reid into school. He led a lively, interactive assembly for the whole school before working with each class in hands‑on workshops. The children had great fun exploring the world of storytelling and gained a real insight into what it’s like to be a published author. It was an inspiring day that sparked plenty of creativity and excitement for reading and writing across the school.
